‘The End of my Story’

'The End of my Story' was inspired by a song 'I Hope You're The End Of My Story' by one of my favourite bands 'Pistol Annies'. This piece stands in stark contrast to 'Just us'. Where there was once togetherness, now there is solitude. It captures the weight of loss, the stillness that follows the unraveling of something once so deeply cherished. The lone figure sits surrounded by the same landscape, yet everything feels different and much colder, heavier, as if the air itself has shifted. The colours and textures tell a story of love that was, and of absence that lingers. A storm begins to pass, yet its presence is still felt. This piece is a deeply personal reflection on heartbreak, capturing the moment when connection fades into distance and memories outlast the presence of the person they belong to. It also reflects a state of deep introspection, a quiet reckoning with what has been lost.
If you look closely, you’ll see sunlight peeking through the right hand corner. I see it as a subtle but powerful symbol of hope, a reminder that light always awaits on the other side of darkness. Raw and unfiltered, this painting holds the quiet ache of letting go.
