‘Peanuts’ is inspired by a lovely Jersey cow called Peanuts from Dawlicious Farm, somewhere that I go regularly to collect my raw milk. Making this painting full of energy and life was really important to me because that is the absolute pinnacle of local farming, happy animals that aren’t mass produced to keep up with overconsumption!

I wanted to capture her gentle but curious nature with a burst of vibrant colours. The mix of oranges, pinks, and blues highlights her character, while the expressive brushstrokes bring movement and life to her soft coat. I chose a bright background to add to the energy of the piece, but kept it fairly minimal so that she is the star of the show! Painting this was a fun and personal take on a lovely cow that left a real impression on me!
